EP Review: Free Lunch By Wale

Free Lunch by Wale is a solid body of work.

Wale is a music veteran, and he did not come to play with Free Lunch. Free Lunch is actually his third EP release in 2018, so you know he is putting in the work. The previous two were It’s Complicated and Free Promotion.

Wale Free Lunch EP is a solid artistic piece. There's a track for everyone, and you might truly recognise Wale's incredible talent.

Wale is one of the rappers that’s been around for a long time but hasn’t still fully achieved GOAT status. This particular EP is definitely a step in the right direction. Free Lunch has five tracks and features J.Cole and Eric Bellinger.

I just play it cool and confident, they would never know

-Dummies

In Dummies, Wale acknowledges that he is one of the best of his generation but the media hates him. He also addresses the murder of ten-year-old, Makiyah Wilson and the sorrow her family is going through. He speaks to the thugs on the streets and says violence against ourselves makes us powerless.

For a love vibe, 3 Days 3 Hours is perfect. Wale speaks on being truly in love with a girl and all the crazy feelings that make up love. He talks about love being a consuming emotion that can never fully be satisfied.

If you want to dance, My Boy featuring J.Cole is the perfect tune. What makes this track further intriguing is that it is a freestyle. Right Here featuring Eric Bellinger is a statement by Wale that he’s all you need.

Everything you want is right here (right here)
Everything you need is right here, yeahhh
Everything you dreamed of is right here
I’m right here

There have been many reviews of Free Lunch and they are mostly positive. See them below;

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Free Lunch. I believe it’s a solid body of work from Wale. Currently, my favourite track is My Boy featuring J.Cole, and I’m so happy it’s already in the Apple Music Top 100.
