Saweetie released her EP, Icy in March and it has generally been received well. In this era of City Girls, the take-his-money mentality is not fresh, but it’s certainly entertaining.
ICY has seven songs and you can be assured that it is a unique body of work. However, if you’ve known Saweetie from the High Maintenance era and were expecting a similar vibe, you will be sorely disappointed.
In the High Maintenance EP, which I consider one of the greatest EP’s released in 2018, Saweetie stresses on herself, her hard work and how she tolerates no disrespect from haters.
In ICY though, Saweetie raps about gifts from rich dudes, her ideal guy, and dabbles in pop with ‘Emotional’ featuring her boyfriend, Quavo. You can actually feel her growth in this EP. She has a more commanding tone, and still delivers great bars in ICY.

Dipped in Ice
Saweetie has admitted in an interview with Billboard that as a new artist, she is intent on finding her sound. This confirms how you feel when listening to ICY. It’s Saweetie going a different direction and still killing it.
You can listen to ICY by Saweetie here. It is quite difficult picking a fave track in this EP, as it’s packed with great songs. For now though, I have Dipped In Ice and My Type on repeat.
Have you listened to ICY? What’s your favourite track in ICY by Saweetie? Let us know in the comments.

This design is incredible! You definitely know how to
keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos,
I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!)
Excellent job. I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
Too cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4UHQ7hpetU
Fascinating blog! Is your theme custom made
or did you download it from somewhere? A theme like yours with a few simple tweeks would really make my blog stand out.
Please let me know where you got your theme.
With thanks
