Laura Lee's Apology Is The Worst Ever

It’s 2018 dolls and karma is still active. If you need proof, you can look no further than Laura Lee. She is a famous makeup artist and youtube vlogger. She refers to her fans as Larlees and has created LauraLee Los Angeles, a makeup brand. But this Laura Lee apology has made her lose fans.

Laura Lee who recently celebrated having five million subscribers, is currently embroiled in a scandal as racist and fat-shaming tweets she made in 2012, have resurfaced.

The beauty guru who refused to apologize, and deleted her twitter account in defiance, has given a written apology after losing more than ten thousand subscribers in a day.

On realizing that the written apology did not calm the spate of hatred, and continued loss of subscribers, she released an apology video on YouTube. This video is the recipient of the award for ‘Most Fake Video‘. It is also a nominee for ‘Worst PR Mistake‘.

Due to major backlash, Laura Lee deleted her initial apology video and released a new one. Here she does not fake cry or sound intelligible. It still received backlash because she keeps deflecting blame from herself, and refuses to take full responsibility.

Racism is a big issue in today’s world. Not being honestly sorry for rude remarks to the fanbase who make you a star, and have accorded you privilege, is a direct slap across their faces. It’s elementary public relations.

A basic apology has the elements of sincere remorse for past mistakes. This is evidently lacking in Laura Lee’s video. It has cost her a lot, as she has lost almost two hundred thousand subscribers in a week. See some reactions to the video below;
