Tomi Adeyemi, the #1 New York Times Best-Selling author of her debut novel; Children of Blood and Bone is calling out Nora Roberts for stealing her title. Nora Roberts, a multiple award-winning author of over 225 books across different genres, is being accused of copying Tomi’s title to gain clout for her recent novel; Of Blood and Bone.
As expected, this has got the internet in a whirl. Nora Roberts is trending across several countries on Twitter, and many people have voiced their opinions on this issue. Most opinions, however, support Nora Roberts.

Yeah. That looks a bit too close for comfort.

Grinds my gears so much that the series is ALSO a fantasy… like come on. That shouldn't be allowed.

People on Team Nora:
Stephanie Meyer and James North Patterson both had books called Eclipse come out on the same day. It was like hell.

Iâm so sorry, but this isnât how any of this works. Children of Blood and Bone only pubbed a few months before the Nora Roberts book. Totally different punishers. The art departments of different publishers donât share their work with each other. Blood and Bone is a common title.

Idk, thereâs a lot of titles with that phrase.. pic.twitter.com/JM7SNyE9zX

Nora Roberts wants to profit off your book, The Nora Roberts , The J. D Robb??
First, your book is not the first to bear that Title , there are other books before yours.
Speaking of originality , that mixture of Merlin & Avatar & Harry Potter is originality?

Personally, I believe that Tomi Adeyemi is out of bounds with this public embarrassment of Nora Roberts. While it is fair to speak out on injustice, it makes no sense when the title is generic. Many book title’s have blood and bone in them.
Also, the use of shamelessly in her tweet bothers me. It is neither professional or classy to use such words when describing another person, talk less of THE NORA ROBERTS. Furthermore, it is reasonable to conclude that Nora Roberts does not need to ride on any coattails to have a successful book.
Not sure Nora Roberts, THE Nora Roberts would need to ride on anybodyâs book title to profit. Must be that thing that happens to many creatives, where they create something that has already been created without knowing it exists, because sometimes inspiration is similar. https://t.co/yvDhjjdQRW

People who believe Tomi Adeyemi shouldn’t complain:
You are being petty. It is not enough to be great? Sit on your throne as a published author and quit throwing stones. I say this as someone who is reading YOUR book right now and recommending it to students.

Nora Roberts: *has over 200 books, multiple pen names, name recognition in her genre*
Tomi Adeyemi: *debuts with an amazing fantasy story*
Nora Roberts managers or someone: "Oh we're THREATENED."Unbelievable.

Just gonna say there are other books out there called blood and bone as well. That have been out there before you published. pic.twitter.com/1qwdLl9uoo

In relation to the above, my point has been adequately summed up by Cerys Thomas and Carey Camburn.
I totally agree this is too close to be a coincidence. But I have to admit that when I read CoBaB I actually thought that title was WAY to similar to Daughter of Smoke and Bone. The only way to avoid this is to come up with a completely original title. pic.twitter.com/aO2BxgWW8c

Yeah instead of âDaughterâ itâs âChildrenâ (also similar in meaning) and instead of âSmokeâ itâs âBloodâ otherwise theyâre EXACTLY the same. If it wasnât for this Iâd have zero problem with what Toni is saying but given these similarities…
— Carey (@careytodabble) November 28, 2018
If every author went off about the titles being similar, then itâd be a daily argument. I donât see Cassandra Clare – author of City of Bones – going off about Victoria Schwab publishing a book called City of Ghosts. The stories are different and thatâs all that matters đ¤ˇââď¸

Right now, this is water under the bridge as Nora Roberts has spoken to Tomi Adeyemi, and explained that she was not aware of her book.
