Once Upon A Time, in a Kingdom in West Africa, there was a revered billionaire named Aliko Dangote. He was a charitable man to his people, and the Kingdom was proud of him. Alas, Dangote had no wife.
He was famous in faraway lands, as he was a man of considerable wealth. One day, the royal courier Instablog9ja announced to the Kingdom, ‘Hear Ye! Hear Ye, the Billionaire seeks a bride‘. All the nation went into a frenzy.
This was exactly what was going on in my head when I saw this post from InstaBlog9ja. Now in Dangote’s defense, that was a minuscule part of the interview. He talked about the struggles of running a business in Nigeria, his company’s plan for expansion, and his dream of purchasing the Arsenal football club. However, the piece in the interview that made headline news was the need-a-wife part.
“They will try all sorts of tricks. This is a very, very tough society. Only the toughest of the tough survive here.”
-Dangote
The comments were numerous. Tons of Nigerians heeded to the call and the applications began pouring in.
