praying for @ddlovato and her health. When I was 14, she was an idol to me in how she spoke so openly about mental health. And now she continues to inspire thousands of young men and women with her body positivity messages. Addiction and mental illness doesn’t discriminate. 💔

In light of Demi’s overdose, and the massive support showed by tons of people across the world, other issues have been raised. Some people have reacted to this by addressing sub-issues. Check them out;
I feel like the media only glorifies black celebrities at their best and when it comes to drugs it’s a joke because its “expected”. They judge us off of stereotypes and act like we are immune to the issues every human faces. When others deal with it, it’s not to be joked about pic.twitter.com/fUGXlyfdvz

Yes it is a "race issue" black celebrities like DMX, Chaka Khan (you probably have to google her), Lil Wayne, Future, etc. have had health complications from drugs they didn't get this,"Get Well" energy we as a society CLOWN THEM. pic.twitter.com/KCscklDTDf

After everything, it is important to realize that all drug addicts regardless of fame, or race deserve continual support.
This isn’t about race. It’s a recent issue and it’s understandable why people would show sensitivity towards it because somebody could’ve died. Somebody could’ve died and y’all really saying “but black people xyz…same energy” LMFAOO pic.twitter.com/H2umgQ0mvZ
