Five Lessons To Be Learned From What Men Want

What Men Want is a feel-good romantic comedy with an ensemble cast. I truly enjoyed watching it, and realised after writing my review that it contained valuable lessons.

Although there are tons of takeaways from this movie, there are some standout lessons. After watching this movie, here are the top five lessons I gleaned from this movie.

1. Listen to Others:

The entire movie revolves around this. Taraji P. Henson’s character (Ali Davis) starts hearing what men think. This knowledge helps her make better decisions in her personal and professional life.

Before this, Ali has bulldozed through life at top speed without consideration for others.

This lesson hits home. Tons of people who see themselves as good and kind are actually only wonderful to people of great importance. Upon introspection, many people might see that they view lower-ranking people as inferior.

As was stated in the movie, “Winning really doesn’t matter if you’re a horrible person”.

4. Pursue Your Goals:

Ali Davis has a singular ambition; to sign the next basketball superstar. With grit, determination and her psychic ability, moviegoers see her achieve this. She overcomes all obstacles and excels.

5. Leave Toxic Situations:

From jobs to relationships, this advice holds true. Leave whatever drains you, or doesn’t serve your purpose anymore. Leave it behind. Never be afraid to end toxic relationships and start anew.
